For owner Jared, creating this sanctuary has been a deeply personal journey.
Growing up around the farmlands of Lebanon and Lancaster County, PA, Jared often felt at odds with the landscape around him. But after leaving Pennsylvania to pursue a successful NFL career, he found himself drawn back to the quiet beauty of his roots and inspired by a desire to offer others a place of stillness in an ever-changing world.
Owning land and fostering a space for meaningful connection has been a lifelong dream for Jared. Acquiring Big Boy Farm, 52 acres nestled in the rolling hills of Kempton, PA, allowed him to fulfill that goal. Here, Jared has curated a space where guests can unplug, immerse themselves in nature, and find a moment of respite from the busyness of life. His vision for the farm reflects a commitment to stewardship and a love for the meditative quality of the land, which he hopes will inspire others as much as it inspires him.
At Big Boy Farm, each cabin, pathway, and shared space has been thoughtfully designed to celebrate the simplicity and beauty of the Pennsylvania countryside. From intimate weddings and family reunions to quiet getaways and creative retreats, our farm offers a space to reconnect—both with nature and with those who matter most. For Jared, this is more than a property; it’s a labor of love and an invitation to experience the peace and inspiration that comes from being in harmony with the land.
For Ben, managing Big Boy Farm is both a calling and a creative endeavor.
Growing up in Manheim, PA, Ben developed a deep connection to wild, outdoor spaces—a connection that continues to guide his work today. Since 2021, he has been managing vacation rental properties, finding joy in curating unique stays that invite guests to experience peace, adventure, and connection.
At Big Boy Farm, Ben takes a thoughtful, ecological approach to land development, striving to honor the natural forces that have shaped the landscape for millennia. His vision extends beyond overnight stays which has led to opening it up as a wedding venue as well as a gathering place for the community—a space for shared meals, meaningful events, and moments of quiet reflection. Each cottage, trail, and common space reflects a commitment to preserving the land’s authenticity and celebrating its rich Pennsylvania Dutch heritage.
Ben is passionate about creating opportunities for people to unplug from the digital world and reconnect with nature, themselves, and each other. His favorite spot on the property is the Hilltop Cottage, where guests can witness breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over the Blue Ridge Range. Through every season, Ben’s goal is clear: to respect the land, foster authentic human connection, and make the magic of Big Boy Farm accessible to all who visit.
